Food list

The Ultimate Camping Food list

The Ultimate Camping food list, will help you to figure out what food you should bring camping, particularly car camping. You donโ€™t want to spend your entire camping time cooking, so easy to cook foods are ideal. If youโ€™re going interior camping, find out what backpacking food to bring.

What Food to bring Camping?

Excellent Camping Food List – for canoe trips or car camping where weight isn’t so much of an issue.

ยท Sโ€™more stuff โ€“ Graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolate squares.

ยท Hot dogs and buns (to roast over the campfire).

ยท Burgers and Buns โ€“ buy the burgers frozen, so they keep your cooler cool for a few days.

ยท Condiments- ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, relish, cheese, lettuce, tomato.

ยท Corn on the Cob (with butter, salt and pepper)

ยท Baked Potato (donโ€™t forget aluminum foil- and DONโ€™T leave the foil in the fire to burn, it doesnโ€™t actually burn away).

ยท Trail Mix / GORP โ€“ Gold Olโ€™ Raisons and Peanuts (or Granola, Oatmeal, Raisons and Peanuts).

ยท Granola Bars

ยท Power / Protein Bars

ยท Apples โ€“ great snacking item for a day hike.

ยท Bagels (they donโ€™t smushed) with Bacon, Tomato, Lettuce.

ยท Peanut Butter and Jam- great for breakfast, or Lunch.

ยท Meat Pates โ€“ easy and tasty lunches.

ยท Salami or pepperoni or pepperoni sticks (that donโ€™t need refrigeration).

ยท Cheese

ยท Can tuna, or canned ham

ยท Cup Oโ€™ soup, Soupworks or cans of soup – a ready made meal!

ยท Coffee- instant isnโ€™t perfect, but itโ€™s easy.

ยท Cereal- my mom used to buy the individual cardboard packs, and weโ€™d eat out of the pack for breakfast (less garbage). Plus, it was the only time that I got โ€˜Fruit Loopsโ€™ as a kid!

ยท Pre-packaged hot cereals- โ€˜just add boiling waterโ€™.

ยท Hot Chocolate Powder

ยท Juice Crystals

ยท Kraft Dinner

ยท Instant โ€˜Side Kicksโ€™- another easy meal.

ยท Spaghetti โ€“ can or jar of spaghetti plus noodles.

ยท Bagels with cream cheese and cucumber.

Remember, if youโ€™re going drive-in camping, youโ€™ll have a cooler, and so can bring most things that you would use at your home.

The list above is a list of easy, yet yummy foods that appeal to the average North American Camper. It is by no means complete, and I will be adding more ideas as I think of them.

What Ethan Williams said about my list: ” With this resourceful camping grocery list I have been able to fly through supermarkets. So far, my camping food list is almost complete, and I have your article to thank for this. I also found the following article to be quite resourceful: [http://survival-mastery.com/…/camp/camping-food-list.html] “
